Autism & ADHD Assessment Service
Independent assessments for Autism & ADHD
Kimberley offers independent autism and ADHD assessments through her private practice KADS.
The service is a concierge diagnostic practice, which ensures the client's needs and expectations are kept at the centre of the assessment journey while also ensuring clinical rigour and quality.
The foundation of every assessment is a NICE-compliant assessment approach, which is then built upon to support the individual and their family's wider needs. At the beginning of your journey, you will meet with Kimberley for a free initial consultation to discuss your needs and expectations from an assessment, and there will be an opportunity to ask any questions. Kimberley works with a trusted multidisciplinary team of professionals, which she will coordinate on your behalf as deemed clinically appropriate. This will be set out in a bespoke proposal following your free initial consultation, which will also detail the financial investment for the assessment.
There is no obligation to move forward with KADS at this stage, and Kimberley hopes the proposal will help you in your research into what is clinically appropriate for your needs. There will be times when Kimberley’s service is not the right service offering for you- she will be honest about this and explain why this is the case. She understands the frustration and stress of finding the right service, so if this is the case, she will use her extensive network and wider partnerships to signpost you to an appropriate service.
*It is important to note that Kimberly does not offer a direct medication service if ADHD is diagnosed; however, she has partnerships with trusted organisations she works with, which will be able to advise and support if this is clinically indicated.
Associate ADHD & Autism assessments
Kimberley works with a handful of selected providers who deliver autism and ADHD assessments which align with her values of keeping the individual at the centre of the assessment journey.
She understands the need to mobilise quickly to ensure your clients have continuity of service and to have someone you can trust and have confidence in.
She quickly blends into teams to support with demand for services and can hit the ground running.
If you are a provider scaling or needing interim support with diagnostic assessments, please contact Kimberley to discuss your requirements further.
Chairing MDT Discussions
Kimberley has years of experience chairing multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions and supporting clinical formulations. Having an independent chair with senior clinical expertise can support teams in reaching consensus and ensure that all views are heard and contribute to the diagnostic formulation.
She also supports complex MDT reviews/client discussions, as we know Individuals are unique, and this can sometimes pose significant challenges in practice. The research shows autistic individuals are more likely to experience diagnostic overshadowing and also more likely to experience a range of co-occurring needs. This can make assessment or care formulation complex for professionals.
Kimberley can be brought in to support complex care or diagnostic formulations, bringing her wealth of clinical and lived experience to the MDT.
Second Opinion Assessments
Sometimes assessments can be complex, and there are concerns that they are not up to a clinically robust standard. This can cause anxiety for parents and individuals. And this is where Kimberley can offer comfort, reassurance, or advice on how to move forward.
Similarly, Kimberley has been asked to provide a clinical second opinion on diagnostic assessments when such assessments are challenged within an organisation and an independent review is needed. She works with the provider to review the completed diagnostic journey, the information obtained during the assessment, and to provide her clinical opinion. She is able to support effective and compassionate communications with the individual or family as needed.
“Kimberley’s kindness and personal approach made the whole assessment journey so much easier”
